Turn the Key And - - -

Yahoo Message Number: 4806
We were just stranded briefly in South Carolina because when we turned the ignition key, the engine would not crank. We remembered reading on this forum about this happening to others, but we called Country Coach. They shipped us via overnight a start solenoid (the one on the wall in front of the rear bumper. We installed it, and still it wouldn't start.

It's the same as several other folks reported - turn on the key, listen for all the pops and hissing, then absolutely nothing else happens when the key is moved on over to the start position.

We have successfully jumpered the starter twice - once to make sure it would work, and once to get the coach on the road to head home.
Both times, we noticed that even though the transmission says it is in neutral, the coach adjusted itself to ride height.

Two questions. (1) By jumpering the starter, are we bypassing anything that would cause it go to to ride height? And (2) if the problem is with the Bosch neutral relay in the Allison box, which one of the relays is the right one?

Any information will be greatly appreciated - we drove 610 miles yesterday without shutting down the engine so we could get back home.

When replacing relays, check your manal for the neutral lock-out relay. Try that first. Also, try wiggling the wires in the harness going from the seloniod, etc. Perhaps you have a bad terminal end as I did.
