Heart Interface charging problem

I did an equalize on my batteries, and after about eight hours and went to look and the fault LED was blinking, along with the charge LED. The battery condition was showing green on full charge, but the battery voltage LEDs showed 11.5 volts. The batteries are only a few months old, so this was disconcerting. I grabbed my meter and checked the voltage at the batteries, it was 15.5 volts. So I hit the charge button a couple of times, and the display became normal. After a while (not equalizing, just normal operation) the same thing happened. I unplugged the shore power and checked that the inverter function was operating normally, it was. Plugged back in after a few minutes, and everything back to normal. This has now happened four time. Each time, the batteries seem to be slightly over-charged (around 15.4 volts), but the remote display shows 11.5, with the fault and charge blinking.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? I hate to pull that inverter out of there, a royal PIA. Plus I am getting ready to head out to Arizona for the winter and need my coach working properly. Is there a place in Yuma that can repair an inverter?

First thing to check is for loose battery connections, i.e. resistance that makes the charger not see the true battery voltage. If you find nothing there, then suspect it is time for major inverter work. Does this only happen when you use equalize? Does it work correctly the rest of the time? Was the charger set correct for the new batteries? Needs to be fixed as 15.4 will boil your batteries dry in short order. You may be using the equalize to often if the new batteries are only a few months old.

To find repair, take the make and model number and use Google to find the makers home page and see what they list as repair business and locations. This may be your starting spot:

Just had a Pro Sine 2 issue and had to replace the old one. Xantrex has a 30% discount for present owners. But one can find the same or better price by careful shopping on the Internet. Also Camping World will price match if you can find the best price in state of the store you are shopping in. Find the price, print it out and take to store.

One thing, the new Pro Sine 2 is working much better at battery charging and low voltage control then the old one. Our Pro Sine 2 finally failed completely and while at home. Thankfully. It had given warning a couple of times while camping. Got so 120 volts would not even pass through. If you are going to dry camp, well, how much of an investment do you have in the new batteries and is it cheaper to replace the inverter then risk the batteries and have to do both later?

It sounds like the charger portion of your inverter is still in the equalize mode and not going to normal charge. You may be able to reset the inverter and get it's brain back working. Also, why equalize such new batteries?

Part of the problem is that there appears to be something wrong with your remote or the shunt if you have one. There is no way you should be seeing more than a few tenths of a volt difference on the remote from what you are reading at the batteries with a voltmeter and the remote no matter what the voltage is at. I agree with others, you will cook your batteries in short order at 15.5 volts. Does your remote show your batteries at float? What type of batteries do you have? Do you have a Link 2000 remote? Are you sure you have gone off of equalize? When the inverter is equalizing the charge LED flashes, at least on a Link 2000. But this makes no sense either since after the 8 hours, the equalize should turn off. Does sound like maybe repair or replace time.
