Chk Transmission?

Hi,

I have a 2000 Allure and the CHECK TRANSMISSION light from the dashboard diagnostic lights is staying on when I get ready to start up. Is this is a maintenance issue or an operational issue?

By "getting ready to start up" mean you have turned the key to the on position and have waited until the indicator lights have gone out except the check trans light? If so, mine works the same way. Turn key on and wait until the lights go out and the only lights that are on is the check trans and step out lights are on. Once you start the engine, the trans light should go out.
