Air Conditioner Will not start

Yahoo Message Number: 67717
Gentlemen,

I have a 2005 Inspire that for 6 years have had no problems with the Air Conditioner. Currently I start the generator wait a couple minutes for the generator to come up to speed, and then turn on the Air Conditioner. It has taken as long as 10-15 minutes to start, and then it will turn off once then come on again without doing anything.

Does anyone have any suggestion ?

I had a similar incident with one of mine. It turned out to be a bad run capacitor. Mine which are Dometic have a run and a start capacitor, either one could be the culprit.

I've had the same problem (Air Conditioner won't start) with my bedroom AC a few times and each time, if I unplugged and replugged the phone-like cord under the AC panel inside the coach, it started working again for a few weeks. I finally cleaned the plug connectors with Deoxit (sp?)and that seemed to fixed the problem.

Stan,

I had the same thing happen with my 2006 Inspire.

I did have to replace my front AC last year as the compressor seized up. When the AC would try to start I could see that it the voltage draw would spike to 60 amps + and shut down. $1,400 replacement.

I also had a problem with the generator shutting down once it got started and any draw started. I thought it would be the fuel line replacement issue but turned out to be bad connections at the batteries. Once the cables were removed and cleaned it has worked good since then.
