Remote Sat antenna connection

We remote canp a lot, and sometimes cannot get a signal for the roof mounted antenna. So, I purchased a remote dish and am trying to figure out the best way to connect to the system. The wiring diagrams show a connection might be in the drivers overhead.
Before I start opening closed stuff, I wonder if others have found an easy solution.

What I am going to do is have a guy who does this for a living install an A-B Switch where the coax comes into the DVR and run another coax down to the bay outside and then have 150' of coax coiled up in the bay and then I take it to where I can get Line Of Sight and connect it to an SL3 (Directv) on a Tripod Mount and then use an Accutrac II to line it up with the sats and then you just switch from "A" to "B" for the External Portable Sat Dish or "A" for the Motosat on the Roof.

I put two A-B switches (be careful of switch quality) in the back of the audio cabinet accessible through the vent hole in the side of the cabinet. I ran two cables down the adjacent wood "pillar" (there is a grab handle on it)to the "box" adjacent to the passenger seat (there is an access panel).
I assembled a weatherproof shallow box, put two cable connections in it, painted it to match, drilled a couple of holes into the access area, and siliconed the box to the side of the rig.
I made my own weatherproof box from parts from Granger. The RV cable boxes I found are cheap pieces of plastic that look like they would blow off in about 10 miles.
I didn't want to have to leave the basement open. I have 50 foot or so of cable, and except in one very treed area, has been sufficient.

The AB switch is a good idea. I used the coach external TV input and used a diplexer to split off the tv and modem. Just make sure your running RG-6 in the coach. If you want to run external cable or TV at the same time use a diplexer at the input side also.

I would be more conservative with cable length, since there is some signal loss with longer cable. I might suggest more than one cable, a 25' a 50' and a 150'. Use the shortest one that allows proper placement of the dish.
