HAPPY BIRTHDAY COUNTRY-COACH-OWNERS FORUM

Happy Birthday !!! This Yahoo CCO Forum is celebrating its 10th birthday today. It was started on February 9th, 2001, by Sue & Allan Martens. Thank you Allan for the forum. Allan's message is attached to the bottom of this message. It tells of their adventures during the past 10 years.
Exactly one year later Allan added me as a "Moderator", and I have been actively moderating the forum since then. I was working for Hewlett-Packard (usually from home or the RV) and spent every day in front of two computers. I retired two years later in 2004, and still have a computer and Droid X smartphone in front of me every day!!! Just a week ago, Allan and I thought it would be a good idea to add me as a "Owner" (Yahoo terminology) of this group, as backup for each other.
A few statistics: Ten years later, over 67,200 messages have been posted. Members have joined, and some leave. While there are over 3,000 listed members of the forum, that can be deceiving as slightly over half of them have selected membership with NO EMAIL. We don't have any statistics as to how many of these members read the messages by visiting the forum's web pages, or how many of these are no longer interested. 854 members do subscribe to INDIVIDUAL EMAILS which currently flood their mailboxes with 20 to 30 forum messages a day! 513 use the DAILY DIGEST which provides one or two email compilations of messages posted.
This group would not have been possible AND useful, without the generous participation of so many members helping other members. Thank you all.

I am very thankful that Herb took over as monitor and now as co-owner. It is his leadership that has made is such a benefit to all of us.
Sue and Al Martens, the past 10 years: We kept our 32' CC Allure until 2002 then sold it and bought an Monaco Executive and kept it for a couple of years. In 2004 we bought a home in Voyager RV park in Tucson and sold the Monaco and bought a 36' CC Allure which we use every summer. I spend a lot of time making silver jewelry and Sue focuses on embroidery. Over the past 10 years we have been to Alaska and the Maritime part of Canada. We sold a boat that we had lived on for 5 years traveling the eastern waterways. Now we spend our summers in the North Central US. We are from MN. For the past 4 years I have volunteered at the Minuteman National Historic Site near Wall SD and plan to do it this summer. Wall is where I have more time to check in on the Owners site.

A very big thank you Herb for all you do.
I remember when I found the site and was able to get information, helping me understand many of the systems. Over the years there have been some really great posters. Some just have that ability to express there words in a way that makes it fun to read. Always a different take on the subject.
Who would of ever predicted Country Coach going out of business by 2009.
