80,000 Mile Inspire

Yahoo Message Number: 68833
We have an 80,000 mile Inspire that has been fantastic. We have had regular maintenance according to the description in the manuel. We plan on leaving Chula Vista Ca. in mid may for 3 to 4 months and will travel 10,000 to 11,000 miles.
Does anyone have any maintenance or accessory suggestions that I may need to address prior to our next trip. Our 2005 Inspire has four slides with Cat ?

Thank You

Stan, has your drive shaft been lubed recently? Top off you battery wet cells.

Just the usual Stan, tires, serpertine (fan) belt, batteries, filters, change the oil if due, etc. The recommendation to check for engine wear is at 300,000 miles. You have a long way to go to even think about the engine (or transmission) being worn - as long as the maintenance schedules are followed, drive it!

Hi Stan,

Scott always checks to make sure none of the hydraulic lines, hoses or wiring harness are rubbing against anything (frame, other hoses, etc.) If your tires are original I would truly consider replacing.

Have a wonderful trip.

Best regards,

Stan,

In addition to the already provided suggestions here is some more: take along fuel filters for the genset and engine, if you have aquahot take a fuel filter and nozzle, a couple of gallons of your preferred coolant and oil,I also carry a spare thermostat for the hydrohot as it is prone to failure, a decent set of tools and a collection of various screws, bolts, plumbing fittings and other common hardware items. Sometimes a simple screw can resolve an otherwise downtime occurance. Just think about all the little things you take care of when at home and prepare for that on the road. Have a great trip. Tell us where you are going.
