Hwy 10 from San Diego to the East Coast

We are leaving San Diego May 21st and driving Hwy 10 to the East Coast. If you have some unique place along that route that you have discovered could you let us know. We will be going to some of the traditional city, like San Antonio, Baton Rouge, New Orleans. If in any of these city there is an attraction, event, festival, or anything that we must go to, let us know.

Don't goT o far and stay at Emerald Desert RV park in Palm desert CA.
Have Brian was and wax your

coach for the big trip. There's lots to see and do and the weather is cool this week. El Paseo drive is

worth a visit with all the exclusive shoos and great restaurants. Hold your breath and buy fuel in

Ehrenburg, AZ and save a bunch. The Musical Instrument museum in North Phoenix is a rare find.

There's a WWI aircraft Museum, too. Art museum Also, Tucson has a great aircraft cemetery, also a

wildlife museum, and lots of native desert plants, too. You want to stop in Las Cruces NM and visit Old

Mesilla and the famous La Posta Mexican restaurant. El paso's University, UTEP has unique Architecture

and a Great museum. You can see Old Mexico from I-10, but stay away.
There's a military museum, a

Border patrol, and founders Museum too. There are Churches older than anything found in Plymouth,

Mass, or Jamestown, Virginia. There's the old Concordia cemetery with the famous gun fighters of the

west. Take a slight detour and visit Fredericksburg with great German restaurants and shops and

Johnson City, home of LBJ and Longhorn cattle etc, then on to San Antonio.
With Sea World, the River

Walk, Biological gardens and Air force Museum, etc etc. San Antonio is a great visit. Houston has all the

trappings of a big city, so much to see and do. It will be hot soon with high humidity, but there are to

many things to list. Then comes New Orleans, a Great Naval museum in Pennsicola, home of the Blue

Angels. There are all sorts of places to visit on the Gulf from Corpus Christie, Tx to Key West, Fl.

in N.O. try the World War Two museum in downtown area. The French Quarter RV location is pretty nice but rather expensive right off I-10.

Kartchner Caverns exit 302 near Benson AZ is very cool. Tombstone is nearby also.

You can stay at the French quarter RV resort right next to the FQ, If you like drinking and music plan to stay a couple of days. Fun City and nice Park(reservations suggested)

Stan & Brenda,

As you get to Deming, NM on 10, head north on 180 to Silver City. We live here fulltime in our motorhome and it's one of those hidden gems. There is much to see in the area and the beautiful Gila Mtns are all around us! There are 3 RV parks here, but Manzano's - quaint and quiet - (where we live) we feel is the best.
Come for a visit!!
