08 Magna

All,

Have not posted on this board in couple of years. We had a 03 Intrigue that we traded in for a 04 Foretravel. Sold the Foretravel last year and have been without a coach for year.
Looking at a 08 45 foot Magna with 14000 miles. From the info that I have seen this model is an all electric coach. Any issues with the Magna that I need to be aware of or concerned about? As I recall the 05 Magna's had electrical issues.
What is a reasonable price range for a Magna? Thanks in advance for your responses.
Sincerely,
Reese Cantrell

Reese,

Just curious, how did the Foretravel compare? Why the switch back to Country Coach?

Thanks,
Rob

Rob,

I will give the "Readers Digest" version here and send you the "War and Peace" version by email.
Our CC was a 03 Intrigue First Avenue (Ovation) 42ft.,3 slides, Cummins 400 bhp, and IFS. Our Foretravel was a U320 Designer Series II 42ft., 2 slides, Cummins 500 bhp, and front straight axle. The Foretravel had a very wide turning radius which presented problems. I hit landscape timbers, backed over and broke a water hydrant, hit a picnic table, and ran off of a path and got stuck in the mud.
Of course some of these incidents caused damage to the fiberglass and got that repaired at Xtreme Graphics in Nacogdoches. We were James and Jennifers best repeat customer.
The major issue was the turning radius and lack of a third slide. The lack of having the third slide was a bigger issue then the turning radius. The difference in engine size was a non factor. We liked the transmission retarder and the fact that the Foretravel factory is 65 miles from us.
If I could do it over I would have kept our CC. Sorry for the length of this reply.
Regards,

Reese
