Nevada Hwy 93, Good or Bad?

Yahoo Message Number: 71245
We are headed out of Prescott, AZ tomorrow for Seattle. Streets and Trips is suggesting the best route is to Las Vegas, then up the middle of Nevada on 93 to Twin Falls, then on to Seattle.
Half way up the state, Hwy 93 turns eastward at Crystal Springs and Hwy 318 continues northward, both reconnecting at Eli. Then Hwy 93 heads for Twin Falls, Id. S & T is suggesting I take Hwy 318.
Having never driven either highway, can anyone comment on (1) whether 93 is a good northbound choice in the first place, and (2)is Hwy 318 shortcut from Crystal Springs to Eli worth taking? The fastest route to Seattle is my prime concern but I will do anything to avoid Interstate 5 - California to Washington.

I used to live in ELY and yes the 318 short cut saves you about an hour and is a very good road.

Both 93 and 318 are good roads and 318 will save you about an hour. Suggest you fuel up no later than at intersection of 15 and 93.

Thanks for the feedback on the two highways guys. I appreciate it.
We are leaving this afternoon rather than this morning after a little surprise ate up half of the day yesterday. I happened to notice oil on the ground under the engine when I was checking the tires and it turned out to be from the turbo oil feed line. When it was installed, the nutcase with the wrench twisted the line as he tightened it and left it rubbing on the turbo case. It finally wore through the steel mesh and rubber and failed......., amazingly in my driveway. What a stroke of luck that was (if I have anything at all good to say).
Now the other problem presented itself. Rocky Mountain Cummins in Phoenix did not have one in stock. No auto part stores in the Prescott area had fittings like these to make one. Bui by another stroke of luck, a small truck repair center in Dewey, AZ had one in a box full of old miscellaneous parts and sold it to me for a "gotcha" price I will shudder about for weeks. Talk about "saw me commin'", but I am on the road today so......
