Zone 1 No Heat

Hello again

My Zone 1 "gas" heat is blowing only unheated air. This serves galley and under dash...both blowing unheated air. My Zone 3 heat works fine. I have Hydo Hot system. Thermostat appears to be reading and tripping appropriately. I have thrown circuit breaker for hydo hot system to see if a reset may help...no such luck. System manual no help for this issue.
Any thoughts? (My Zone 2 is a heat pump out of this loop) Thanks again

You could have a stuck valve.. Take the cover off the Hydro Hot & tap the the valves lightly with a hammer

while the unit is running.

Go into your bay where the hydro unit is.
Take with you a screwdriver or a wrench.
Take of the cover allowing access to the brass zone valves, feel which one is cold and tap on it with your tool. You will hear it unstuck and start to get warm, it's now working.

I agree with the responses on the group as a first check. The valve they are talking about is the brass check valves that are just inside the cover of the unit. But another thought I have is ? Have you had any service done to the coach recently where they have had to add any coolant to the engine or hydro hot system? Engine t-stat ?
Radiator ?

Or anything like this. The reason I ask is there has been an issue with air bubbles getting trapped in the hydro hot system. There are service loops in the hoses that go to the heat exchangers in the coach. A normal scenario for air bubbles is just what you are experiencing. i.e. good zone 2 and no zone 1.
To resolve this issue I use a radiator pressure tester as follows.
With the system cool remove the radiator cap from the hydro hot. pressurize the system to 14 psi

put a clean drain pan under the hydro hot drain line turn system on and slowly open the drain valve at the bottom of the hydro hot tank ( this is located under the same cover as the brass valves) run system and continue to apply 14 psi to the pressure tester.
You will want to watch the drain as to see if there is air comming out.
Keep a few gallons of coolant on hand you will need to watch and when you see around a gallon has come out of the drain shut the system down and allow to cool. Check and add coolant as needed .
I have had to add up to 2 gallons in addition to what has drained to some systems.
If you use a clean drain pan you can reclaim the coolant that drains out.
Retest the system and see if this cures the issue.

Greetings all again,

Tapped the cool valve and BINGO, it heated up and Zone 1 has heat again. Thanks to all who responded. Your help is invaluable. I hope I can pass information along in years to come as I learn the ins and outs.
Thanks also to John Davis for the detailed response, which I feared as I have recently had coolant overflow travelling thru the mountains, but no overheating. I have had a few low coolant signals, and have added some.
I don't know why the overflow without overheating however. If someone has insight there I would appreciate it.

I agree tap the check valves located at the top of the unit.
