Radiator for 2002 Allure

Yahoo Message Number: 72114
Does anyone know where to buy and to remove and install a new radiator for my 2002 Allure? I live in the Boulder/Denver/Longmont area of Colorado. The existing radiator is aluminum.

I just purchased a radiator for our 2006 Inspire from Radiator Supply in Oregon (recommended by a number of people). I replace the Aluminum one with a steel / brass / copper one. I installed the unit myself; not sure I would do that again. I checked a number of places around the Denver area and only came up with one place that had experience in radiator replacements - Sante Fe Service Center 303-688-8945 ask for Bernie or Gary; they are located in Sedalia - not real close to your location. Hopefully this helps, good luck.

James, sorry you are having radiator problems. The best advise I received for radiator and charge-air-cooler problems from our web group was to contact Brice Thomas Radiator Service in Gadsden, Al. (256) 546-4613. Joey took great care of us, but he is not the only one who can help you. They did great work for less money (and a full year's parts/labor warranty) than I could get from the original manufacturer in Calif or from the Oregon folks. You are probably going to have shipping involved regardless, so I would at least call Brice Thomas for a comparison before committing. In my case, they removed, recored (reused my end tanks)and reinstalled the CAC, plus removed and disassembled my radiator, measured the core and had one built for me by a Dallas company, then welded the end tanks back on and reinstalled. My total cost, including labor, was only about what parts - before craiting and shipping - was from the other manufacturers. And labor would have been on top of that. Time interval was in days, not weeks or months.
As for removal and installation (shipping to Brice Thomas for the old radiator if necessary- also will guarantee accurate measurements for proper fit), there are probably many in the Denver area who can do this, but I was impressed with the quality of work I received from Wagner Catapiller (NE Denver) last September when my C-12 had to be rebuilt. Not cheap, but quality and timeliness were excellent and the manager, Ray - I think, but his name and details are in my coach so not handy - were really helpful in a stressful situation. I did not chose them for the radiator installation work because I wanted more time to research my options.
Fortunately, after my engine rebuild, I was able to drive to the manufacturer's location in Gadsden for the CAC/radiator work and avoid some of the horror stories I heard about when the other suppliers shipped radiators that wouldn't fit for various reasons.
Best of luck. Hope to be enjoying Cherry Creek St Pk again before long.

E-mail me off-line if you need more details.
