Country Coach Friends Club Birthed at CC Friendship Rally by Sherry Fanning

Now THIS feels like a Country Coach Owners Rally! That was a comment heard throughout the Country Coach Friendship Rally held June 13-17 at Riverbend RV Resort in Harrisburg. From those first hellos when 60 motorcoaches arrived through the final goodbye, camaraderie and friendship coursed through the event like the currents of the scenic Willamette River outside the rally site windows. The Friendship Rally culminated in the birthing of a new Country Coach Friends International Club (and soon-to-be new chapter of Family Motor Coach Association). Bylaws were reviewed and officers were elected at this historic rally's business meeting.
Tens of thousands of dollars will have been invested locally on everything from tires, coach renovations, cabinetry, coach accessories and supplies, and groceries, to restaurant dining, antiquing and touring local wineries, attractions, and shops. Around 120 RVers were in town to rally with their Country Coach friends and are lingering on exploring the area.
Robbie Orme, one of the rally attendee taking part in a wine tour coordinated by Oregon RV Alliance, brought back an outstanding bottle of wine commemorating the last presidential election which she donated to the rally charity auction. This rally's charitable cause was God's Storehouse in Harrisburg and Junction City Local Aid in Junction City. Attendees' generosity resulted in $8,625 raised to benefit these two vital community organizations. Thanks to the many generous donations including a Gary Tiffany-like lamp from Terry and Bob Lee, and an "Eagle in Flight" sculpture from Ron Lee, owner of Country Coach Corporation, along with many other noteworthy items like free week's stays at RV resorts in Michigan and Texas, and discounted Fantasy RV Tours from Floridians Tanna and Bill Flomer, the live auction was a rousing success. Thanks to Eugene Livestock Auction auctioneer Bruce Anderson for helping make the auction not only successful but highly entertaining.
Local caterer Tom Slagle of Bambino's restaurant set the bar high in terms of rally cuisine receiving rave reviews throughout the event. Generous business partners supported the rally with service, technical seminars, and sponsorship monies. Local business partners included Country Coach Corporation, Premier RV Services, Oregon Motorcoach Center, Bob Dickman Tire Center, Guaranty RV Center, Carr Industries, Advanced Satellite, RV Glass Solutions, Fly by Might RV Wash & Detailing and HitchPro & Tow. Other seminar presenters included Mary Moppins coach cleaning seminars, SilverLeaf Electronics, Pampered Chef, as well as presenters on Lane County's covered bridges and a talk about the wines of this region. Travel Lane County was on hand with their van dispensing maps and area information to rally guests. Oregon RV Alliance provided their new RVers Resource Guides.
Guaranty RV Center hosted an offsite lunch which was well attended, while Country Coach Corporation, Premier RV Services, and Oregon Motorcoach Center hosted full tours of their facilities.
This community is well recognized by Country Coach owners as a mecca for motorcoachers in terms of quality service providers. The surrounding area is unlike anywhere else in the nation in terms of ocean views, mountain ranges, verdant valleys, and high desert plains all being just a short driving distance from the southern Willamette Valley.
Service specialists steeped in Country Coach specific technical knowledge were kept busy coach side throughout the event dealing with motorcoach service issues on coaches in attendance. Jake Smith of Premier RV Services noted that "it felt like old times visiting with so many long time friends I've met over the many years I've been servicing Country Coaches at rallies across the nation.
Attendees appreciated the opportunity to shop for a new Country Coach motorcoach too. Guaranty RV Center, Country Coach Corporation, and Premier RV Services each had brought Country Coach motorcoaches to the resort for display.
Thursday morning honored rally attendee Ron Lee addressed the group regarding what is happening at Country Coach Corporation. On the last evening a toast and standing ovation tribute was made to the original Country Coach company founders and (current co-owners of Oregon Motorcoach Center) Bob and Terry Lee, also honored guests at this rally, for their approaching 50th wedding anniversary. Local residents Joy and Barbara Epperly were also recognized at the rally for their upcoming 60th wedding anniversary.
Serving as a rally consultant volunteer member of the Country Coach Friendship Rally Planning Committee, I was again reminded of what I've learned over the past 19 years in the RV industry. When partnering businesses, individual volunteers, and a great group of Country Coach enthusiasts join forces working on a motorcoaching event, large or small, the results are always the same--happy faces in the rear view mirror at rally's end and a welcome injection of revenue into the local economy.
This group of Country Coachers were treated royally by Riverbend RV Resort staff, local businesses, and all who supported the event. They were quick to say, "We'll be back! See you soon."

Herb, in post 72013 you said, in speaking about JCF and other CC clubs "Please consolidate the discussion on their forum, instead of scattering it across two or three forums."
Like you've stated, if you want to learn about JCF, go to their site,
But, yet again, this is a rehashing of old news, which I've lost track of the number of times I've read, in violation of your own edict?
This is all beginning to sound like a TV commercial I've read/seen too many times.

Thank you for the posting Herb. It seems there are those who resent any posting concerning Country Coach Friends International. For those on the forum who are interested there is a lot of information at the Just Country Friends Forum

Lee,

I believe the key word here is "discussion". CCO's Group Home page requests that the discussion of the clubs POLICIES and ISSUES be directed to their respective forums.
FYI, I had received a request from the new club to publish their "Press Release" about their recent rally and their formation of the new club. I was hesitant to publish it for several days, until I verified that it was published by an Oregon newspaper, at which point I felt it was general RV news that may not have been seen by many of the CCO Group members.
CountryCoachClub (CCI Club) and Country-Coach-Owners (CCO) Yahoo Group moderators have removed files and photos from the respective forums that the respective moderators felt belonged only on the JustCountryFriends (now known as Country Coach Friends International Club) Yahoo Group forum, or their website when/if they have one. CCO is not a repository of various club's ByLaws, nor does CCI want to be the Photo Scrapbook for rallies of other clubs. Each club needs to maintain their own photo history.

The key word here is:

"Do as I say, not as I do".

Totally disagree with you, Lee. Thanks, Herb, for posting. Herb, you have done an excellent job balancing postings and keeping the business of the other forums on their own place. An occasional post like this, from you, updating us on a major event, is not a "violation of your own rules". Thanks again for the great job you do.

That's helpful Herb.

When you posted the original conditions for Club messages, those of us in CCI took it to mean 'no messages.' While I have not kept a log, my sense is that CCI do a pretty good job of honoring the perceived 'no messages' expectation.

But then JCF, aka CCFI, message started to appear.
So now what I am gathering is no "POLICY and ISSUE" posts/discussion. No files to CCO of "various club's ByLaws."

But published NEWS is OK, as has just demonstrated. Am I right?

Lee,

That is basically right -- no POLICY or ISSUE discussion of other clubs on this Country-Coach-Owners Group. (Their P&I's need to be consolidated and addressed on their respective websites). NEWS and PRESS RELEASES, we are being careful with. We don't want this to be the ongoing advertising and promotion agency for clubs and businesses. We don't mind announcing a new business or club or web group that our group members may not know about. After an initial announcement, businesses may not advertise "sales" and product on this group, but certainly are welcomed to help members with our problems and even assist with locating the part(s) needed and announce the availability of the part in exchange for the help given. They may sign their helpful posts with their business name, address, etc. We think the businesses are now respecting this policy.
I hope I have described and represented the feeling of the majority of the group's members that have responded to me both on and off of the CCO Group website.
