Looking to Purchase CC

I am very interested in purchasing a 2002 CC Intrigue. Does anyone have suggestions what to look for (potential problems) for this model and year. Thanks in advance

Mike,

No ideas on the problems of the Intrigue, but I am sure you will get a response from many Intrigue owners. You can also search the group and see what comes up.
I can tell from your post, that you are a wise, decisive and probably handsome man. I can tell because you are looking to buy a Country Coach. They are truly wonderful coaches, and I for one am proud to own mine.
Best of luck and see you down the road Bob

If it is at all possible, I would definitely recommend getting the potential coach inspected by Oregon Motor Coach in Junction City, OR. In particular, press on walls around windows, and light fixtures, and make sure there is no soft wood. Check also around the door. There are so many things that the layman may not catch that OMC could catch for you!

Last year I talked to one of the Country Coach technicians, laid off when they closed, and his opinion was the early 2000s were the best coaches - height of development, before QC problems started creeping in. I was glad to hear that, since I love my 2003 Intrigue (dumb luck on my part). Every coach is a collection of sub systems, but CC seems to meld them well on a solid platform. My opinion agrees with the tech, but then I am hardly an objective observer. Whoever buys my coach will get a good one, solid, well built and well cared for.

The only issue I had was the bubbling of the paint around the outside edges of both slides. This was repaired and repainted by the dealer shortly after I noticed it eight years ago.
If you don't see any paint bubbling or peeling, then it was repaired or never was an issue. Other than this, if it has the Hurricane hydronic heater, verify that it is operating properly.

Mike,

I agree with Jack in that the early 2000 models seem to be well built.( I'm also prejudiced since that's what I own) I own a 2002 36' Intrigue w/2 slides & ISL-400 & have been very happy with it. No major problems (knock on wood). I have had to change tires, batteries & a few other things that are expected to wear over time. You would be buying a nearly 10 year old coach & I think the question to ask is "how well has it been maintained up to this point"? If it has been a single owner coach & has complete maintenance records I would feel pretty good about it. If not, it may be wise to have a professional do a complete inspection of the coach.
If you would like to e-mail me off-line I would be happy to answer any questions I could about this model.
