Rear View Safety Camera

Yahoo Message Number: 72987
I recently purchased a new rear view camera and monitor, the interface plugs on the new system has an additional pin on the interface plug, 5 pin vs 4 on intec system pigtail, for both camera and monitor connection and different plugs while the current installed cable #CVU18M, which runs from back of coach to dash area, has many unused wires so it is just a matter of rewiring the 12 pin connector pigtail on the monitor end and the camera end but I would prefer to get a pigtail which is already wired on the 12 pin pigtail, has anyone installed a camera from Rear View Safety, Inc? If so how did you deal with the interface cable issue?

Thanks
Ray

I am in the process of installing a new Rear View color camera and monitor in my coach. I would like to add a wire for audio which was not present in the previous camera and monitor pigtails. The connectors are 12 pin 3 by 4, I have been unable to find these connectors and would like to find out if others have had any luck or know where I can get a female and male connector. I need the male connector to build a pigtail to connect to the long cable which connects the camera from the rear of the coach to the front of the coach. I need the female connector for the pigtail connecting the monitor to the cable at front of coach. I prefer to use the pigtail route rather than splicing into the long cable. On the front of the coach the long cable is mounted in such a manner which makes it difficult to splice thus the need for a connector to simply connect to the existing male connector which is on the long cable. I have taken photos of these connectors and put them in the CC groups Photos data base under REAR VIEW CAMERA. I am asking for help in identifying a source for the plug and receptacle. Please take a look at the photo and let me know if you know of a source for these items. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ray...

Try Mouser Electronics:

http://www.mouser.com/search/default.aspx
Call them, they have a toll free number...

If they don't have the connectors, they will tell you who does...

Thanks, Buck. I have been searching their catalogue on and off for several days now and haven't be able to find the connector. They probably do have it but I just haven't found it yet. Mouser is my favorite online site to search for electrical parts.
