Anyone change the fan belt on a PT, bay mounted in an Intrigue? Looks like you need to remove the radiator to get to the belt.

Thin leather gloves will save you some knuckle skin. If you loosen the four 10mm bolts securing the water pump pulley, it will tilt down enough to slip off the old belt and the new one on. You may have to remove two or three of the bolts to get enough belt slack. I don't recommend removing all four! Re-tightening the bolts tensions the belt. Radiator removal was not required, just some careful maneuvering the belts around the fan blades. It is a pain, but doable.

You are correct! I had a radiator leak and while it was off had them change the belt.

Friend I have a PT 7kw! I called Power tech in Leesburg Florida! Remove the Fan belt guard only, Roll off the belt! I went to NAPA and got a Rpl. belt. Roll the new one on! Put the old one in the Bay Just in case, Did this three years ago! Working for Cat I never did this to a Cust. unit but for me it worked! I removed the Bay door and put the slide in! Too old and Fat! Good Luck! BTW a friend has a 00 Allure with a PT 8kw and this unit has a Squirrel Cage Fan, No can do! While your down there check for cracks on your Fuel lines! Ken 99 Allure 30356

Thanks for the info. I wondered about how to change that belt.
