Towing a Ford Edge

About ready to purchase a 2011 Ford Edge with Push Button Start. The question just hit me, How do I shut the engine off while in Nuetral so it can be towed?
Anyone towing a push button start car that can reassure me the purchase is o.k.?

Dave, we have a 2011 Edge, same setup as yours. Have now towed it 5,000 miles. I will send you details off-group.

Bottom line . . . the purchase is OK.

Dave:

On my Mini, with similar push-button start, you just push the same button again to kill it.

About a month ago we purchased a 2011 Ford Edge Limited (push button start). We have got it all set up to tow. Installed (1) TOAD Charge, (2) Air Force One dingy brake, etc. We will start towing it soon and are following the Ford Owner's Manual procedure except where the manual is incorrect re: putting the transmission in neutral without the engine running.

1. Is there anything else I need to know?
2. Will towed miles show up on the odometer with the Edge in the "Accessory Position" while being towed?

Thanks for your help

Paul . . . you need to know -
1. Miles will not show on the odometer.

2. At the end of the day, be sure to start the car while still in Neutral . . . then shift to Park.
