Chuck, CC bought the fuel tanks as an assembly so they probably don't carry any individual parts. If you have the original documentation that came with the coach, there is a spec sheet from the tank manufacturer.

Cat C-13 oil cap recall

Yahoo Message Number: 73960
Greetings

Had the oil cap come off my Cat C-13 engine last week returning from Cape Cod, and lost 11 Qts of oil. No damage but what a dinghy mess!!! Anyway, my Cat dealer locally said Catepillar had a recall on the oil fill tube and cap...not a safety recall, just an "Oh by the way" recall should you have such an incident.
Just wanted to pass this along if any of you folks with a C-13 get oil change service or other engine service at a CAT service location. Ask next time. It won't come up in service bulletins unless queried.

CC Parts does carry the sending units or can order one for you. I just purchased one for my coach. I am not sure if your coach uses the same one or not but most likely they are the same. The Intrigue and Allure of that year shared many common parts.
This is my second one I have replaced and it is made by Transfer Flow Inc (TFI). It is a 0-90 ohm float arm type sending unit. There website is http://www.transferflow.com . You can purchase direct from them, but they are going to want your old unit so they can duplicate the arm length and resistor pad. I did not want to do that because CC had one on the shelf the first time I purchased one about 5 years ago. I ordered one about a month ago and CC knew the part number that was in my coach so they had it dropped shipped from TFI. I will change it out in a few months when the weather gets a little cooler.
Try calling for Jennifer Emanuel [jemanuel@...]541-234-2167 Fax 541-234-2189. She is in parts and she does return calls within a couple of days. She is very helpful. Be patient, CC is on thin ice trying to get the business going and many of the employees are doing double duty to make it work. Make sure you give her your coach number along with year and model. It helps speed up looking at their parts. If you order, make sure you also ask for a gasket kit.
Not sure what your symptoms are on your gauge or the arrangement of your sending unit. If same type as my coach this may help..... it is mounted with 5 sheet metal screws and a cork gasket in the top of the tank. It has two wires connected to two spade terminals with a variable resistor sending unit. The variable resistor changes the resistance to ground for the gauge. The 90 ohm value will result in the gauge reading full. As you decrease the resistance, the gauge will move toward empty. If I remember correctly, it will take about 2.5 ohms for the gauge to read empty. You can use different value resistors and simulate the sending unit to ensure your wiring and guage are all good. A few 33 ohm resistors from Radio Shack in series work fine. Make sure you rule out every thing else before ordering and thinking it will cure the problem. Loss of ground will cause many of the same symptoms. When removing the wiring and sending unit make note of the positioning. A camera comes in handy for this.
Let me know if you need any other info. I have some photos and schematics.

Personly I wouldn't waist my money replacing the tank unit , THEY JUST DON'T LAST. just Write down your fill up milage run 500 mi. & fill up again. I had 2 put in my old CC. they last abput 1 or 2 years. Had the tank unit replaced on this CC , it still works YET. Bob '02 Magna 6028

Jim, On my 03 Allure 1st Ave. I had to have the Tank straps and all fuel connections removed and the tank dropped down to get the new sending unit in. I have about 4" from top of tank to bottom of coach floor.
Just curious, how did you install your sending unit without dropping tank?
My first one went out at 66,000 miles, now the second one is out at 112,000

Thanks, Mike 03 Allure 1st Ave. #30898

Mike,

I also replaced mine by reaching in over the propane tank and removing the 5 screws and reversed the procedure to reinstall, helps to have small hands because there isn't a lot of room but it can be done. Mine failed about 5 years ago and, knock on wood, the replacement is still working.

My coach is a 2000. Different design.
I can get to the top of my tank thru my LP tank compartment. There is just enough space for me to reach in on top one handed and take the sending unit screws out to get it out of the tank. Extend the air bags to get the coach as high as possible and then lean on the LP tank and reach between the frame. Very tight, but it can be done. It took me about an hour the first time.

Chuck, I think the others have given you good advice on the Transfer Flow Co. as it would give you the exact fit and wiring. However someone on the web had suggested calling TRISTAR @ 315-712-0071. I replaced mine one time and had to have the Fuel Tank Lowered to get the Sending Unit out. This happened at 66,000 mile, its now out again at 112,000. I'm using miles and my SilverLeaf, don't think I'll spend the money again.

Chuck,

You most likely have the same one I recently replaced on my coach. Contact Jenni at Country Coach parts and she will look up your coach. She can order and have it dropped shipped from Transfer Flow. Make sure you ask for a seal kit as well. Tell them what kind of screws are use to mount it.
If you can describe it as seen on the top of the tank, I can verify it be same and give you some pointers on removal and installation. My unit is a Transfer Flow 90ohm mounted with five 10-32 philips stainless machine screws and has two spade connectors for the gauge wiring. I can replace my unit without dropping the tank. Tricky and very tight, but it can be done.

Jim, on your 2000 Allure can you estimate how many inches of space you had between top of tank and bottom of coach floor?
On my 2003 Allure I had to have the tank dropped which is way to expensive to do again. But I never tried to do myself as I can't hardly get my arm in there to work with the space I have.

Thanks, Mike 03 Allure 1st Ave. #30898

Mike,

Most likely the design of your coach is different. I think your generator is in the front on your coach. My Power Tech gen is in a drivers side bay
On my coach....There is several inches between top of tank and bottom of floor. However, there is only about 3-4 inches space from frame rail to floor support beam. I access the top of the fuel tank squeezing my upper body on top of LP tank, arm over LP tank and across top of frame rail until my forearm can go no further. Working with a thumb and a couple of fingers, remove the wiring, five philips screws and finally remove the sending unit that has about a 16-18 inch long float arm.
Not easy but it can be done. So far I have done it twice and it takes me about an hour.
