As a non US owner I am a little confused by what appears to be TWO chapters for CC owners of the FMCA. I joined the FMCA but have found that as I cannot avail myself of many of the benefits and that the membership is an expensive exercise, indeed I get more insight and help from this valuable forum. I am eager to join groups that give me the opportunity to learn about my specific coach from others and will pay for that privilege, unfortunately one cannot interrogate the forums and online member facilities of these 2 chapters without joining, (sort of try before you buy) and as my FMCA experience has shown the online facilities may not prove much benefit especially if you are a non US owner, therefore I wonder if there are members of this forum who are also members of these 2 chapters who could compare and contrast the forum, online services etc of these 2 chapters (Country Coach Friends Incorporated, & COUNTRY COACH INTERNATIONAL (CCI)) for my and perhaps others benefit?

Thanks in anticipation

Michael

My Question is do you travel in the US? Joining FMCA as it is a requirement to belong to either of the chapters or regional clubs. Though you get to communicate with us on the internet its not like meeting people in person to share the thrill of RVing and fellowship. You get to attend seminars about your coach, meet techs who know about your coach or even helped build or maintain it and other identical models. You receive discounts on repairs and parts, and between the techs and sponsoring member business organizations and fellow members really guide you into really enjoying the CC RV lifestyle over the bumps of technical issues as you drive down the road to your next adventure. When I owned an Airstream trailer I had to depend on my dealer and my wits over 11 years. After buying a CC and attending my first rally a lot of doors opened for me that are still open that allows me to continue my travels with enjoyment looking forward to seeing many friends as we travel the road. With out the friends I've met on the road and at rallies, membership sponsors, and the techs, I would have had to turn in my keys to the RV long ago. And I surely would have not bought the second Country Coach.

I attended 13 Home Coming Factory rallies and as many regional rallies. I find the flavor of the CCFI members rallies to be more as those of yore. As I live out west I really enjoy going back to Harrisburg to see my good friends over the years. Its great to see all the guys at Oregon Motor Coach, who worked at the factory and all know me very well. Its great to see all the techs who have gone out on their own, too. The people at Glass Solutions, Davis Cabinets, Carr Industries, Northwest RV supply, Carrier and Sons Les Schwab tires continue to help me with my trials and tribulations just as they did when the coach was new. It doesn't matter to them that the coach will be 9 years old soon. I enjoy their professional service and thoughtful help and recommendations. Fortunately I also have access to CC techs with in a half days drive for service also, which really helps. Cummins and Allison are with in a 15 minute drive, too. But the Allison and Cummins people in Coburg, Oregon are the best. They know are coaches, well, are thorough and fair. Many of their techs worked for the factories in the Eugene area. Premiere RV is there also with the largest selection of CC coaches for sale in the US. The sales people know are coaches well and Gary Obermeir was in charge of engineering our coaches, So stop by.

CCFI Members Pat & Candayce Detloff recently represented Country Coach Friends Incorporated, an international chapter of FMCA, at the Chapter Fair held during the FMCA Northwest Rally in Coos Bay. Over 100 people stopped by the Chapter Fair to say hello. Prior to the FMCA event, the Detloffs thoroughly enjoyed the Northwest Country Coachers pre-rally.
Summer fun awaits at Harrisburg Oregon this July 24-28 at the 2nd Annual Country Coach Friendship Rally. Currently there are only a few openings available for anyone wishing to join the party! Vern & Phyllis Meighen, who presented unforgettable "Class Reunion" company events in the past are again the Rally Hosts for this Friendship Rally. "Hey Vern, Got A Story?" is sure to be a repeating question throughout the event, as he is an emcee extraordinaire. They've put together a robust schedule to keep attendees as busy as they wish to be each day of the rally. Dozens of sponsoring business partners' representatives will be on site throughout the rally presenting seminars, providing service support and visiting with the group. Come see Country Coach Corporation, Oregon Motorcoach Center, Premier RV Services, Guaranty RV Center, Silverleaf Electronics, Advanced Satellite, DLH Design, API, Carr Industries, Bob Dickman Tire Center, SkyMed, RV Glass Solutions, and many more! A small vendor area will feature some of the major co-sponsors of the rally, along with Pampered Chef, Mary Moppins and Country Coach Corp's logoed apparel. One night finds the group enjoying an outdoors chicken/burger/hot dog barbecue with VIPS at the grills, reminiscent of the old days and Country Coach's Lee family chicken barbecues held on the corporate front lawn! Optional activities include a Cooking Class and Wine Tasting. Visit www.countrycoachfriendsincorporated.com or call 775-742-4627 to request a registration form be sent to you via email if you'd like one of these four spaces!
Next it is on to the Great Lakes area for a Fall Fun Rally in Petoskey, Michigan at Hearthside Grove RV Resort September 16-21. George and Josie Shallbetter, who have been Country Coachers for decades will be hosting the event. George serves on the CCFI Board as the Midwest VP. An excursion cocktail cruise on Lake Michigan, followed by an optional dinner at a nearby restaurant, as well as an optional ferry trip to Mackinac Island with lunch at the Grand Hotel are being planned. While on the Island you may want to take a carriage tour of the island (there are only service vehicles on the island). Public transportation on the island is either bicycle or horse and carriage, plus there are plenty of shopping opportunities. Some other side trips may include the Harbor Springs Vineyards and Winery or tour of Castle Farms. In the resort you will enjoy breakfast every morning with wonderful evening meals and an open fire pig roast the final evening at the pool. There will be two nights of local onsite entertainment. This is one of the most elegant RV Resorts in the Country and a great time of year to be there. We look forward to meeting many new friends somewhere up the road in the coming months and years at a CCFI Rally. Rallies and membership are open to owners of all brands of motorcoaches. (Country Coach owners are Full Members; Other Brand Coach owners are Associatate Members.) Information is available at the club website. The more, the merrier!
