Slide comes in too far?

Yahoo Message Number: 74265
The top of my LR slide looks like in retracts too far into the coach, leaving about a quarter to half in recesses. Anyone know how to adjust the in-limits of the slide? TIA

Larry,

On my LR slide there are four cylinders, one at each corner. Remove the screws that secure the wood facia across the top of the slide area inside the coach. Behind this are two cylinders facing each other. On each end are two nuts that secure the cylinder to the slide train mechanism. Loosen both nuts and adjust the nut that causes the slide to extend outward. I think that you actually want to retract the cylinder inward to push the slide outward. Kinda confusing, but you'll see once you remove the panel.

Great info Rob, thanks! I'kinda always thought the adjustment was behind that wood facia. I intend to take a look at it.
Just installed my Girard awning motor today and am back up and running. Thanks.

Larry; I had the same problem with the top of the drivers front slide going in too far.
I corrected the problem by adding about a 6 inch length of ¾" wide and 5/16" thick dense black rubber foam tape to the backside of the slide top outside lip. I did this on both the front and back of the slide. The tape is carried by Home Depot. It is the same material as is used on the body of the coach where the engine access door contacts the coach when it is closed.
The newly added foam contacts the rubber gasket on the body of the coach and holds the slide out. I have used this for 3 years and have not had any leakage when the slide is retracted.
You may have to add a double layer of foam to get the setback you want.
Another way to fix this would be to add a strip of matting to the floor where the slide comes into the coach. This lifts up the slide on the floor tilting the outside of the top of the slide out.

Interesting solution Bob! I think I'll try one of those. Thanks for the insight.

Hey Larry

My slides are not as flush as I would like. I once asked Damon Rapozo aboout it and he suggested I inspect the moly boards. But they looked good to me.
Have been out full timing for about a month now and at the last minute got the condo sold.

Do you still have your second Florida space available?

I have raised this issue on at least two occasions with experienced country coach techs and after inspection their response was to leave well enough alone.
