Allison filter change

While at the FMCA gathering in Madison, I bought filters for my 3060 Allison. It was my understanding that 2 gallons of fluid would be lost in the process, so bought 2 gallons of Transynd. Replaced the filters yesterday and only lost 1/3 gallon of fluid. Would like to drain more fluid to use the 2 new gallons as I am a fulltimer and do not want to carry it around for years. There are pluges labeled C1 to C5 plus the main drain. Sure hate to pull that main drain plug, so does anyone know if any of these will will let me grain another 1 and 2/3 gallons out slowly?

Bill, I believe your C-1 through C-5 plugs are for the internal clutches. If it were me I'd keep your partial gallon for emergency need and sell the other gallon. It is best to determine the proper level of yoyour Allison at full run temperature which makes it difficult drain and measure and redrain or refill to achieve proper level.

Just my opinion, Mike 03 Allure 1st Ave. #30898

Mike, Thanks for the information on what the C-1 through C-5 stands for. I keep forgetting to as the Allison people when I am at a FMCA gathering. The coach now has 164,000+ mile so have decided to drain and put in new Transynd----it deserves it after what I have put it through.
