HAS ANYONE HAD A LEAK ON THE CARPET AT THE STAIRS BY THE ENTERY DOO

We have a leak on the side of the carpat as you come in the door, it is @ the bottom of the top step( door way step) and on the side unter the dash board.(carpet) It leaks ever time it rain. I can not fine were it is coming from. Did running lights, Radio ant. I need HELP with this one. THANKS Dan 2000 Allure #30498

Windshield washers working??? Maybe the hose came off the bulkhead fitting and the water is squirting out under the dash...

I had a similar leak, Creative Coach in Lakeland spent a lot of time on the roof trying to isolate the leak, they finally got it stopped, they re-caulked the clearance lights which appeared to be the fix. You need to remove the vertical strip inside the doorway and take a hose up and run it on each clearance light to see if you get any water penetrating the area.

I had leak at the line where the roof meets the side wall . Theres a metal strip with holes drilled every 6 to 8 inches that connects the two surfaces together with screws and then covered with a flexible half round plastic cover that is painted to match the the roof and walls. Well when they assembled my coach they over tightened three or 4 of the fasteners spinning them. This allowed the wall and roof to separate and allow water to run down the inside of the wall around the PS window next to the front door below the hi-fi cabinet down the front door jam onto the step. I had to drill a hole in the floor near the door jam to drain off the water that was flooding the entry at the rate of 1 inch per hour during a heavy down pour while in Kallispell . I reported the issue before the warranty ran out, so the following fall the factory had to remove the cabinet and the interior panel polish the mold off the steel frame replace the insulation and install an new wall panel. Davis cabinets replaced the damaged cabinet and window trim. The door frame was replaced with a new door assyb. Outside the the covering was removed, holes sealed, new strip with stainless screws installed with cover. Door awning was re-installed and everything repainted and sealed. The angle of the door footplate was changed to prevent water from flowing in at the base also. New gaskets were installed all around the door. The paint didn't quite match as the factory was farming out paint jobs. So they paid for "the paint department" in Chino, Ca. to make things right. I still have the drain holes in the floor and an additional one in the upper corner of the adjacent slide room jam to allow water to escape if the screws ever separate again, rather than the water seeping down the wall as before. I've checked the coach numerous times for drainage during strong thunderstorms with driving rain and no signs of any drainage. Thanks to Ben Barnes and his team # 2 at CC and Shawn Davis of Davis cabinets and Dave at The Paint Department. We were at the factory 5 weeks. That's when CC got rid of service wrighters and team leaders started doing all the paperwork and reporting to the customer. ( Note: I also had my A&E and Carefree awnings removed and proven Zip Dee awnings installed and Shawn removed Debbie's Fabric Window dressing and installed solid walnut window trim to complement the walnut cabinetry.)

Not only did we have a leak, but our poor "lot rot" coach had dry rot on around the door on the front side. OMC replaced the wood and wallboard and fixed the leak around the door. Incidentally, we also installed a door awning and automatic awnings all around the coach. We're hoping that the door awning provides some assistance during rain storms. We've run into a lot of people with that wet carpet near the door . . . we've learned the hard way that wet carpet can be a symptom of some serious damage. I wouldn't let it wait but would get to a reputable repair shop (you anywhere near OMC in Oregon?!) as soon as possible.

OK people, here I am with another "only me" question.
I'm in Florida and it has been pouring here for the past 20 hours. I mean torrential rains.
I now have water seeping up from under the floor tiles in the galley. It seems to be centered in the coach and I have no clue where it is coming from.

Open to all ideas and suggestions and thanks in advance.

Hi George - Water leaks can be two states away, and surface in your coach:)!
Any possibility that the side vent for the fridge is facing the wind side of the storm? If you pop that vent and detect a wet area inside, that could be a clue.
I assume this is while parked? If you have been driving in these rains, check the seams/seal along the top of the storage bins.

Smitty,

Coming up on 24 hours now. I have no intention of going outside unless the water reached my nose. I doubt it's the fridge vent because it's dry under the fridge. In fact it's dry everywhere except under the tile. One area of the carpet is wet but that is where the water runs too.

I had water coming up through a couple of hairline cracks in tiles in the galley just this past week -- was a loose water heater connection -- floor under water heater was soaked and seeping through to galley floor.

We've been blessed with a lot of rain recently and have developed a leak.
We find water on the top shelf of the pantry just rear of the fridge.

Been up on the roof but unable to see anything that looks guilty.

Anyone have any ideas?

George! I would be willing to almost bet that the water suspect is the frig. vent or plumbing vent. You have to look hard that tiny cracks occur where the sealant is. Happened to me. Touch your sealant...........If it is hard to the touch , I'll bet that it is cracking allowing for water to enter.
When was the last time you had all your vents and fixtures re-sealed? I have my fixtures resealed every couple of years. Needs to stay pliable all the time.

Exactly where I looked and everything looks good. As you said, it could be minute but for some reason I think this one is gonna be a phantom. Going to open the opening and take a look around the roof edges.

George - Yes sealant leaks are hard to spot. I had trouble with this too. It's best to avoid water from puddling on the slide tops. Until you find and fix, use a bath towel to soak up the water. Not a convenient approach but better than water damage. Good luck.

Now that my slide leaks have been repaired, I have found another by the door. It is showing its self on the carpet on the left side of the door going up the steps. I remember there used to be an on going topic regarding a front leak but can't seem to find it. Any ideas? Tom
