Hwy 93 through Nevada

Looking for an alternative to I-5 for the trek south next week. Has anyone taken their coach from Twin Falls to Vegas on Hwy 93? If so, would you prefer it to I-5? Thanks,

Driven it many times in our 40' allure with toad without problems. Road is good and lots to look at if you like open country. Did I-5 this summer to oregon from sacramento, only when I have no other good choice. If I can help after you get to vegas, just drop me a email..

We did that road in 2009, I think it was--not a problem. Don't have any notes on it except for a KOA in Ely, NV.
Twin Falls was beautiful, we saw a huge heard of elk on a ledge coming out from a visit to the Falls.

Absolutely!

We have done it twice, the last time was about 4 weeks ago. It is a nice road with very little traffic. When you get to Ely take 318 down to connect to 93 again. If you want more detailed directions send me a PM to Lvandehoef@....

Jurhee,

How is the KOA in Ely? We will need a stop about then.

Thanks Mike, I-5 is not too bad in Washington and Oregon, but is a nightmare in CA.

If you have the time, make sure you go to the charcoal ovens in ely and the million dollar court house in pioche. The old train station in Caliente. WE have dry camped a number of times just off the highway, some real neat places. Just us and the stars. Also stayed at the KOA in ely, not a resort, but safe and clean. LOts of action in windover if you head over that way, check out the WW2 airbase where the atomic bomb was staged for Japan. Also dry camped in the casino's parking lots there. In Jackpot, real nice RV park at the casino, under $20 if I remember right. Enjoy....mike spinetti

The KOA in Ely is very large and has nice pull thoughs. Cable tv sucks, you pay for WYFI. Rates are about $33.00 with Good Sam card.
