Intermittent ignition failure

Yahoo Message Number: 74973
My 2001 Intrigue with Cummins 350 starts right up most times but twice recently it would not start. After running for 165 miles I pulled in to the campground, shut it down to un hook car. Tried to restart and absolutely nothing. I tried to short the starter, got plenty of spark but nothing else. After about 45 minutes, it started up fine. Any ideas?

TIA and I appreciate your help.

Check for low oil or low transmission fluid. Barrie Boas 94 Concept 5111

Mine was doing that in Phoenix, and finally the starter solenoid failed completely at an inconvenient spot. Hope yours is that easy, did not cost much at all.

Bob,

I had a problem with my 2000 intrigue not starting. I found out that there are 2 solenoids. Here is the information that helped me fix my problem.

line Ignition solenoid.
Search on this message, and you will have the information for what to replace the solenoid with.

I hope this helps.

Bob,

If you open the back hatch and look down on the right side of the bulkhead, you will see a solenoid. Give it a few good whacks and see if the coach will start. This solenoid is known for going bad causing the coach not to start. I had it happen on mine and I saw a new coach with less than 100 miles on it at the factory die for the same reason. The relay is a plain old automotive continuous duty and should cost less than 20 bucks. If you don't want another failure, you can get a sealed marine solenoid for about 40 bucks.
