Inverter - the final chapter

I'll drop this subject but first, I have some information that some may need in the future: I spoke with a tech at Zantex, the mfg of the Freedom inverter and the echo charger, etec, etc.
He said that the most common problem with the Feedom 20 (black box) is the loss of contact points inside from lack of movement of the motor home. The problem never seems to occur in boats because they are subject to a lot more movement, etc. Also the dirt and dust issue.
The most common fix is free!! He fields several phone calls and gives out the same advice: Loosen the screws holding the front panel on. The front panel has the switch and fuses on it. Push back and rap on the front panel, then re-tighten the screws and it will re-establish the contact points.
As you might well assume, the later versions, from 2000 and newer have gold tips on the contact plate in question.
He advised me to use a ball bearing fan in the vent tube and wire it to the fan wires within the inverter. The fan inside the inverter is temperature actuated and will only run on demand.
I took the duct fan back to Lowe's and went to my local electronics store. They had several shelves of 3" and 4" 110v ball-bearing fans. I only paid $10.00 for a brand-new one, so I had lunch on the Lowe's refund. Now back to the modification and installation of the fan. What fun.
