Electrical question

2003 C/C Magna My son is an electrician and he just just in a 240 30 amp breaker. When I plug the coach in a reading came up in the coach as a reverse polarity. Do I need to change something on the silver leaf?? When I plug it in to the 110 everything is fine. Help please Vic 6253 03 Magna

If you are using a 30amp circuit. It should have been 120 Volts, 30 amp. One hot leg, a neutral and ground wire on a 30 amp single pole breaker. If you are looking for 50 amp circuit its 2 hot legs a neutral and ground. the two hot leads are fed through a 2 pole 50 amp breaker.

I hear the same thing when I plug into our Honda gas generator. Our coaches are looking for a ground in a certain way and if that ground is not found the voice alarm states "Reversed Polarity." Suggest you call your son and talk to him. He knows how he wired it. Our 97' Magna has the same thing, some one added a 220 leg for a 220 electric heater built into a cabinet. Only can use it when plugged into a 50 circuit. It does not give the Reversed alarm thou. Suspect everything is OK are you would be tripping breakers. Suspect the coach would prefer a little different way of grounding. If your son is a licensed electrician he knows what he is doing. Codes are different in different areas and wiring requirements are different. He may simple need to look at the ground again.

Steve is correct, but if you install 10gauge wire instead of 6 gauge wire, you can use a double pole 30 amp circuit breaker.
This will allow you to run twice as many items in the coach as a standard 30 amp single pole breaker but not as many as a 50 amp breaker.
1 30 amp = 3600 watts
2 30 amp = 7200 watts
2 50 amp = 12000 watts
