Installing Wood Laminant or Linoleum to replace carpet.

Yahoo Message Number: 75131
We have a 2005 Inspire. We are considering replacing the carpet with either a wood laminate or a linoleum/vinyl flooring.
Has anyone done this ?
Did you like the results ?

Did you run the wood laminate parallel to the walls or at some angle to the wall ? Why did you select ether of the above ? Replacing the carpet, did it increase road noise ? Did you like the result of the change of flooring ?
Does anyone live in Southern Ca. that would be willing for m,y wife and I to drive up and actually see the result of the change in flooring ?

Jan, Good Afternoon, I communicated with you earlier in the year regarding your wooden floor installation. Would it be possible for Brenda and I to drive up and take a look at your flooring when you are in Newport ?Stan -- San Diego2005 Inspire 51406

Jan, We are still considering a laminate flooring to replace our carpet. We live in San Diego. Would it be possible for Brenda and I to drive up and see what the finished product looks like. San Diego is just over and hour drive in the car to Newport. We would come at a time convenient to you and only stay long enough to take a couple pictures and see what the floor looks like. Here's another idea.....we just replaced our carpet with a cork floor and love it. Cork is a nice "eco" alternative, it is warm, resistant to mold and bugs, and definitely insulates against driving sounds. It comes in various patterns that look rich. We installed it oursleves....easy insulation.

Thank You for the idea, never thought about that. I especially like the idea that I could possibly do the job my self. Do you have any photos of the motorhome floor that you might email. We live in San Diego and will be going to the Phoenix Good Sam Rally, will you be there ? Brenda is really hesitant to do this so we really need to see the end product and talk to someone who has done this. Appreciate your idea.

Thank You

Stan and Brenda,

We have been talking about putting down a cork floor too, so it was great to read what Debbie and Bob wrote. It would be great to see some pictures! Thanks if that's possible. Stan and Brenda, it sounds as if you're really using that lovely rig of yours a lot! Good for you.

Stan, I installed hardwood floor in my rig a few months back, I used Columbia, Natural Cherry since I have the Cherry interior, I used the 5ply engineered flooring, 1/2" lined up with the Tile perfectly. It comes in 3"and 5", I used the 3", it is relative easy to install, I did have to remove the sofa, but that was all, other than the trim around the slide outs. I ordered the wood from Hurst Flooring in Oldsmar, Fl, very good service.

Stan,

What are the dates? We never know what's going on with the various places Mike has to go for work. We envy the fact that some of our friends, including you and Brenda, are free to go when and where!!! Thanks. Mary
