Fleetguard 84220A

I know that Cummins Filtration acquired Nelson Industries some years back. It appears that the supply of Nelson 84220A filters is dwindling and that Fleetguard 84220A filters have appeared on the market. Strange......but I'm unable to get any info from the Fleetguard website on these filters. Does anyone know for sure that the Fleetguard 84220A is equivalent to the Nelson 84220A? Thanks in advance!

Hi Rick,

Usually the Fleetguard filters have two letters in front of the part number to identify what its for. Such as a lube (oil) filter will start with LF, a fuel filter will start with FF, a hydraulic filter will start with HF and an air filter will start with AF, and so on. Any idea what this filter is for?

I might add that these are the filters I use for my ISL 400;

Filters   - Fleetguard /WIX
Oil - LF9009 / 1748XD
Fuel - FF5488 / 3697

FW Sep. - FS19596 / 3604XE

Hydraulic - HF8140, (3 used total) Air/Outer - AF25139M / 6556
Air/Inner - AF25345 / 6628

I ordered 3 filters from Cummins in Portland in October and gave them the Nelson number and the looked just like the ones I took out. They never mentioned they were different. Worked just fine.

They are the exact same filter per Fleetguard and I got mine from Cummings also.
