Michelin Tire shopping

Just an FYI. I called Lazy Days here in Tucson and asked about Michelin tire prices and the FMCA discount program. I was told that, regardless of what I read on line, that Michelin and FMCA have no such program. I then called TCI Tires and was immediately told that I should get into the FMCA program, because it would save me a lot of money. I later visited the TCI shop and talked to a different individual and was told the same thing. Needless to say, I won't be buying tires from Lazy Days.
I would like to find independent verification that I am getting the correct size tire. Does anybody know where I can find an equivalence chart comparing the TOYO 12R22.5 to a Michelin size? I'm guessing it's the Michelin 255/70R22.5. I could find no such chart on either the Michelin or the Toyo web sites. The list of available Michelin tires on the FMCA page does not show a 12R22.5.
From previous postings, I gather that the XZE* is the preferred tire. The only thing is, TCI only had a listing for an XZE (without the *) Is that "star" worth pushing for?

Michelin makes a 12r tire. XZE is one the recommend for RV, they also make a tire for BUS use, too. They make off road and snow tires, too.

Jim, Yes you need the XZE*, If you go on MichelinTruckTire.com, click on size 12R-22.5, click All Position, Click RV, you find the XZE* which is Michelin CATALOG #85335, it is 42.6" Diameter exactly what the TOYOs were, load for single axle 7390/120psi, and dual 6780/120psi.
I purchased before FMCA had the tire plan, if you question the FMCA plan call FMCA in Cincinnati, OH.

I have 8 of them on my 03 Allure 1st Ave. 40' Tag.

Jim, Be careful about tire sizing. I think the Toyo 12R22.5 is 42.5" tall and the 255/70R22.5 is not. This will effect gear ratio, load capacity, speedometer reading and mileage. Michelin website shows RV tire specs, you just have to hunt for it. I bought Michelins through TCI in Fort Myers and the manager was very helpful. Skip 2002 Intrigue 11329. .

I am also about to replace my old Toyos and am also considering the Michelin XZE's. Have 2 quotes in Oregon for 8 XZE's with new valve stems and the fronts balanced: Discount Tire in Eugene - $5,625 - Bob Dickman (Les Schwab) in Junction City - $5,988. Does anyone have any better prices, service, deals, etc. between Yuma and Seattle?

Thanks,

Dick Bradley

Just a few months ago, I put on 6 new Good Years , total cost of $3695. Could have chosen the MichelinXZE's for a total of $4105. By the way the production dates on the Good Year were July of 2011, and were installed in October of 2011.

Wow! You sure got a better quote from Bob Dickman (Les Schwab) in Junction City, than I did. Just yesterday (4/12/12) I was quoted $7,207.14 "out the door" for 8 Michelin XZE*. I was told they do not participate in the FMCA program.
