If you had purchased the coach from me, there would have been no safe, cause I would have taken out the damned thing. I found the space it occupied (on a shelf t the right rear of closet) much more useful for clothes storage (hats, primarily). The safe also interfered with hanging clothes above it. Maybe the previous owner of your coach had the same epiphany as I.:-D
