Well, I tried to book a stay at ODR and got a recording that they are no longer accepting lot rentals until further notice.
Must be a story there.

I guess I have to start working on my "B" plan to beat the summer heat here in Las Vegas.

Jim, are you set firmly on being in the Newport area. There are a number of nice rv parks in the Coos Bay area. Oceanside is near Bastendorf Beach and on the ocean, has wifi, etc. There is also the marina park in Charleston and Bastendorf County Park and Sunset Bay State Park. The Coos Bay area also has Shore Acres which is a beautiful botanical garden that changes with the season.

Thanks all for the information.

If ODR doesn't open up we will probably go the the Winchester Bay Resort.
Winchester Bay is a different, but equally good experience, with better RV Park Reviews and half the money.

David (or anyone who knows),

Does this have anything to do with the financial problems between Outdoor Resorts and the local owners association? A few weeks ago O.R. was selling (liquidating) lots at about $12,500 or so. I was told that this was being done to raise cash to pay off lot dues owed to the assoc. I can not document that info but it came from the sales rep who was selling the lots.

I was there about 10 days ago staying nearby and wanted to preview this resort. I was stopped at the gate by a polite man that said the property is closed for insurance reasons resulting from the bankruptcy. He added it will reopen very soon.
By the way we stayed at a tiny gated motor coach development (6 pads) that sits right on a low bluff overlooking a spectacular stretch of the Oregon coast. We have no interest in buying a share because we already have a stick house nearby but I was amazed with this place and it's amenities given it's such a small development.

If you want the contact information let me know.
