Engine Idling

Wow, your engine must come up to the 158 degree as stated in the Cummins manual faster than mine. Do you have some sort of air restrictor over the radiator during air pressure build up. We usually move out of our camp site to by the exit gate where camper are not at to achieve manual specified operating temperatures.

Actually, we have a Caterpillar. Since we have air leveling, it takes very little time to ar up the suspension. Don't know about 158 degrees--that sounds like total overkill. I do treat the engine lightly on pull-out--as I go through the camp on exit, the engine is pretty much at idle anyway. Gas or diesel, I have yet to hear a good reason why an engine should be extensively idled on start-up.
