MCD windshield power shades

I have a 2006 country coach allure 430, I'am thinking about replacing my sun visors with the mcd innovations power windshield shade. I'am going to do the installation myself. Has anyone else installed these shades? My problem is that the shades are square, but in measuring the A-pilars top, middle and bottom across the coach there is a variance of about 1 1/2". So I know I will have to cut out the A-pilars, but what kind of vertical trim did you use? If you could post some pictures of that detail it sure would help. The A-pilars are not square and have an angle tapering to the winshield.
This is my first post on this forum. Hope to be active cause I love my country coach. Thanks Jim

I went to Mcd innovations website, got their phone number called and spoke to a rep, they are sending me fabric samples and have emailed me measuring instructions. I then sent an email to one of their techs Charlie Cox, he reviewed my plan and forwarded to me mcd order form.
I have not had it priced yet, but I'am dealing with directly.

I recently had the MCD windshield shades installed by Infinity Coach near Tacoma, Wa. and I plan on installing the manual MCD shades throughout the rest of the coach myself. The electric windshield shades are quite a bit more complex and I'm glad I had those done by an MCD trained installer.
Take a look at the following web page for links to various installation pictures and instructions..

I looked into it and did not like the finished product for the reasons you have mentioned. The other issue is how to deal with the drop down to the curved dash instrument pod.

On my 09 Magna which had a shade built for CC , that was curved, to follow the windshield. It was a very heavy material. there creases in it and did not always come down straight-- a lousy design. MCD would not build the shade the way they wanted , so CC went to someone else. I decided to replace the front and drivers side shade with MCD product. I was at their factory for 5 days. They measured and built , and then redid the front shade as it was not right. The sides of the shade slide down the A pillar at a slight angle forward. The shade runs into the dash curve, and they dealt with the bottom 5 or 6 inches with a " skirt " . The horizontal rod stops at the dash and the skirt gently conforms to the shape of the dash. On the drivers window CC had a shade came down at an angle by building up the roller , onto which the blind rolls onto, thus allowing one end to come down further-- another rube-goldberg design. The driver's side blind now comes down square to the shifter area- problem solved. The added a little piece of black plastic to cover the very front of the window, so light does not come in , and you don't even notice it there. I am very pleased with the outcome, with the exception , that they did not cover warranty labor for a year , while honoring the replacement part-a defective power motor. I thought that was unfair. I can NOT see how one could do this installation themselves. A big benefit of the new front blind is that the blower defroster, from above now has clearance to work . The CC designed blind , being curved, and fatter-because of the thicker material- blocked the fan outlets at the top of the windshield. Anyone with a newer Magna or Affinity would be well served to get the proper blinds from MCD Hope this helps
