Moab in July

Yahoo Message Number: 79423
We leave Texas each summer for 4-6 weeks at somewhere cool, usually the mountains of Colorado. As an avid bicyclists I have always had Moab on my bucket list. Ideally, the fall or spring would be the best time to go, but since we will be in western Colorado this year anyway, I was thinking about spending a week in Moab around the 1st of July. That date fits my already planned schedule. The literature says the average high in July is 98, the elevation is about 4,000 feet, and it is relatively dry. Realizing "hot" is a relative term (remember we are from Texas) what are the thoughts of anyone who has been there in July. My plans would be to do our biking and hiking before noon each day. Thanks in advance.

Hi there -- I just left Moab, and all I can tell you is it was incredibly hot by 11AM, lots of wind.. but yes, dry...but to be in that environment, its worth whatever one endures.... jan

Please can anyone tell me where I might be able to obtain a replacement coolant cap for my 06 Inspire? I have been all over the place, various diesel places, AutoZone type places - no one seems to be able to supply me with a replacement cap....
Have tried Kevin but have not had a response.... thanks

Re: [Country-Coach-Owners] coolant capJan,
I took the cap in to NAPA, they matched it, and I was all set. Hope this helps for where you are in the west.

When you say coolant cap, I'm assuming you're looking for the cap for the expansion tank. Check your manual for the correct pressure (mine was 2 lbs) and got it at NAPA; although most autoparts stores will carry caps in various pressures.

Hi roger - mine is 16 psi - and sorry, I dont know the correct terminology for it, but its the container for the coolant sitting next to engine and has the glass visual to show level of coolant..... I seem to be slowly losing coolant and someone told me those caps sometimes lose their capability to keep the proper pressure and it would be a good idea to start with replacing the cap before exploring possibilities elsewhere.... thank you Roger,
jan

Mike - thank you - will try NAPA --- was at Auto Zone and couple other auto places and they had nothing that would work for me... thanks again Mike...

Jan, are you checking the ground around the left rear of the coach for leaking coolant? Also do a visual check of all the hoses and radiator area. You might spot a leak. A flashlight would be helpful in the dark areas.

Hi Lee --- yes, I am aware of the left rear for leakage and dont find anything so the guy who looked at it suggested a new cap to start with....
However, I might add that this same person told me I had a serious engine problem when he supposedly checked my oil -- said I was way overfilled on oil -- asked him to show me where he tested the oil ---- he was checking trans fluid....... even I knew that, and I know nothing of engines - and this guy was supposed to be a diesel mechanic... jan
