Wonder if anyone has ever experienced the problem of basement door on passenger side near water heater being stuck closed? I am able to unlatch it and it will open a few inches but then it seems to stick by hinge I have removed the gas piston when i could force it open but now seems permanently stuck anyone have any ideas? no damage to door visible on outside or bottom by the way. Thanks to everyone on this valuable resource.

Had the same problem with the small door just in front of the water heater. Worked on it for a couple of days with no progress. Called CC and was told that it had to be a tiny bit of grit. Used a whole can of WD40. Still would only move about 6 inches. A friend came over and really strong armed and it popped open , he had the same problem once. Took the door off and cleaned the upper hinge section. If you had the door off, a side view of the hinge part would look like a ? mark. A tiny particle will make it bind. Since I am a fulltimer, about every 3 months each door gets a liberal dose of silicone. Good luck with getting up the nerve to give some muscle.

From memory my 98 Allure didn't have a hinge per say. There are two interlocking circles where one slides in on top of the other. I believe dirt and debris has entered the gap between the two interlocking pieces of metal restricting their movement. Surely someone at Oregon motor coach, Country Coach, Lazy Days, Guaranty, Holland , RV should be able to help you out. When I had my coach washed at the truck washes when they used their pressure hoses I could see dust and dirt being washed out of the area. But I expected that living in desert country. thanks, I thought I reefed on it pretty hard but understanding the hinge arrangement helps to give me more confidence to pull harder. I thought I could actually see the side flex last time I tried so I am somewhat cautious. I will update with the results of my efforts.
