Satellite receiver installation in Oregon

Yahoo Message Number: 79900
We will be in Oregon towards the end of June and the beginning of July.

We would like to have a Dish Network receiver installed, and an appropriate dish on the roof.

I have been told that Advanced Satellite Systems in Junction City (adjacent to the CC shop) is one of the best there is for this sort of work. Are there any comments here about this facility and the accuracy of the reports I have received from the CC factory itself?

Are there other suggestions?
TIA
Ken

I had Advanced Sat install my DirecTv dish a few years ago and am happy with his work. I had an issue with tracking occur a few months after the installation and he came by OMC when my coach was there and fixed it. I would use him again.

Advanced did our first install in '01. Since then we have upgraded and Amazing Creations did the work. Either one will be fine but my choice would be Amazing. They have dne a lot of cabinet work for us and we are very pleased.

Advanced supplied and installed a Motosat dish for Dish Network on my coach last fall. I am very satisfied with the work.
I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Ken;

I had Cal at Advanced Satellite (actually adjacent and part of Premier RV Soorage in JC) do the install of a new Motosat DirecTV HD dish and receiver. Very happy with his knowledge and workmanship. Would definitely recommend him.

Another individual is Rob Chittenden at Advanced Technology Services in Grants Pass 541 474 7701. He covers southern Oregon. He installed a new Dish Motosat for me. When I sold my 32' CC, Advanced Satellite moved that system to my new 36' CC. I'd go back to either firm.

If you are looking for a new dish , have a look at RF Mogul at www.rfmogul.com. I had a dish from Motosat that I had no end of problems with-- a G 74. I just changed to the RF Mogul dish and at 3 months it's perfect, up and on , first time , every time. Motosat was bought out a couple of years ago, and I think they are in trouble. They basically screwed the key staff. These guys went on their own and have linked up with a Korean Company to supply the dish base and they then put on the dish , new controller, LNB etc to link up to the satellites in North America. They do not use a GPS, but find 2 satellites they know , to confirm location, and adjust the skew and pointing from that. It is a touch slower, but is gear driven, and not chain driven , like the Motosat. My Motosat dish had so much play , at 3 years old , that it would often lock at less than optimum signal strength. I tried 3 Beta versions of the satellite locking program in a 2 week period, with no luck. I am sure Advanced and guys like Dale Morris have changed to RF Mogul .I got rid of my Internet dish from Motosat , in part , for much the same reason. I use Shaw Direct from Canada , so the response time could be different for US providers.

Advanced is clearly qualified but when he installed our system he was in too big a hurry to get to his next appointment and we were in California by the time we found out that receiver was not functioning correctly.
We had to go to another shop to have the receiver changed out. Make sure everything is fully functioning before payment.
