Hello from Minnesota - 2005 Inspire

Yahoo Message Number: 80093
Hello everyone. I met a delightful couple from Washington state (I believe) at a campground in Pequot Lakes, MN last summer, and they recommended that we sign up for this board. I am finally doing that today.
My husband Mark and I are the proud owners of our (hopefully) first Country Coach. It's a 2005 Inspire 330 (Serial #104117), purchased a year ago in Florida. We are just now starting to experience some mechanical and other issues that are probably just inherent to owning a 7 year old coach. We are not used to buying used, so this is new for us. We need to get up to speed on maintenance issues, so if there are any experienced do-it-yourselfers out there that would care to be a mentor, we would certainly welcome a helping hand.
For example, this spring I found drips on the bathroom counter, then in the shower, then in the bedroom. Yikes! Seems the shower dome had 4 cracks that probably occurred over the winter. Several hundred dollars later, we've got the problem fixed, but no one told us we should be checking the caulking on the roof every year.
The bedroom leak is probably a bad seal on the bedroom slide. That will be pulled out next week (16 hours labor quoted), we assume another casualty of its age??
And unlike our car mechanic, the guy who changed our oil didn't check (or suggest that WE check) the antifreeze. It took 2 gallons last week. No maintenance log that I have seen in that HUGE file called "Owners Manual" that came with the coach. So we are wondering what else needs to go on the list. If anyone has developed a comprehensive check list, we sure would appreciate it if you could share.
There are not many CC owners in our neck of the woods (and I mean that literally!), so it will be a tremendous help to know we have this board when we need to reach out.

Thanks in advance for all your posts.

Sincerely,

Lynn Ostrem Winge

Welcome! We don't have an Inspire, we have an Allure and have also had the BR slide leak problem. Poor design. We have had it repaired 2x and still leaks. Check for separation along the seams. Other CC's with the BR slide have had this problem. The carpet under the bed "wicks" the water. Once we have it checked this time, I'll post what they found and what they did to repair it.
This is a great forum and we have learned so much from other owners.
We too bought ours used (1 year old). It's an '04. We have found that most things we have to repair or replace are not a CC problem but other mfg. problems such as refrig, Hydro Hot, generator, tires, etc.
