Need campground from Booners Ferry to Banff

We are currently in Bonners Ferry. We are leaving tomorrow for Banff. We are Elk Lodge members but happy to stay at any campground. If you have any ideas please let me know. I do not want to drive the entire 300 plus miles tomorrow on that winding road to Banff.

We stayed at Mt Baker RV Park near Cranbrook half way to Banff. We really enjoyed visiting the Fort

Steele replica and the Railroad museum in down town Cranbrook. The old railroad station and its

meeting hall was very surprising. The restoration of the CN top elegant passenger train from the early

twentieth century was inspiring reminding me of accommodations on the Queen Mary scaled down for

railroads. Get reservations and fill up on diesel on this side of the border. I imagine diesel is over
$5.00 a gallon US.

Banff and all the beautiful lakes and glaciers are a once in a lifetime treat for me as an Old Desert Rat

from West Texas. Downtown Banff has the feeling of a European resort City, with people from all over

the world visiting the arera, walking the streets, shopping, eating and enjoying the atmosphere. The

mountains and scenic lakes have colors we just don't have in the States.
Make sure your digital camera

is up to the task and you have a polarizing filter to give you crisp clear photos. TWI 2004 intrigue

Don't take any meat from the US into Canada and expect to return with the beef unless its in its original

un opened packaging with US labels. Our customs people will confiscate it and throw it away. Un

opened wine and boose can be confiscated in either direction, though the Canadians were more

reasonable than the US inspectors.

In Bonners Ferry, my favorite little store was Mountain Mike's - organic health food place - the owner (Julie) was just so wonderful....
Liked the town alot.
