Running roof AC on inverter

Well I decided to try running the roof AC on the inverter. Set Zone 1 to Low and waited a couple of seconds. The generator started and the AC came on. It does the same thing in the other Zones. If the thermostat is turned on and you aren't plugged in and setpoint is exceeded, it starts the generator to cool the coach. The only bad thing about that was that even after an hour in the middle of the night after it had cooled down, the generator didn't shut off. I wonder how long it runs before it shuts off.

Mark,

What inverter do you have and what control panel. It may be that what you experienced is exactly what is supposed to happen depending upon how you system is set up. Can't address the problem unless we know your system.

Lyle,

I don't really have a problem. I have the 3000 xantrex inverter. I had posted a question because a somebody had told me that his coach would run one A/C off the inverter when set to low. I posted and asked if my anybody knew if my coach would do that since I didn't get manuals when I bought it used.
I didn't want to try it in case it burned something up. I thought about it and figured it wouldn't do it if it burned something up so I tried it and found that it starts the generator and doesn't run the unit on the inverter. It didn't matter which of the 3 A/C units I tried on the LOW setting.
I kind of just wondered how long the gernerator would run before it should down.

In order to run th AC on the inverter the wiring would have to be rearranged at the circuit box(es) so the AC was in fact connected to the inverter circuit.
On my SOB it is easy to change by simply moving a circuit breaker to a different location, which I did for my residential refer, but not for my AC.
