Allison VIM Ignition soleniod problem

Recently moved coach and on turning off, engine kept running had to use emergency shutoff to stop Cummins ISC. Read Tech Topics and check voltage on off side of soleniod and still had 12V. Ok replaced soleniod started up and problem still existed so not soleniod. Ignition fuse box getting voltage from somewhere. Started engine turned key off and started pulling fuses. Pulled 7.5A fuse to backup switch/backup monitor engine shut off, split leads and found voltage on backup switch. Wire number 79 to VIM reverse relay. Wire 79 should be getting power from ignition fuse box not providing power to it. What to do next? Could a stuck or burned relay do this? Could I use a diode to stop this although it does not address probem of power to ignition fuse box. Any help appreciated.

My dash toggle switches normally lite up when the Ignition switch is on. The toggle switches are glowing at all times now. I checked the Ignition switch by replacing with a new switch. Toggle switches still lite up at all times. Is there a in line relay or something other going on?

Mine did that once and they told me it was a loose ground. Took about 2 minutes to fix and didn't even charge me.
I had a problem once with my generator not automatically starting when my batteries got low and I was getting a bunch of error messages on my Silver Leaf. The tech from Silver Leaf told me it was a loose ground on my Xantrex. He talked me through it and I tightened it and corrected it. After that, I went through and carefully tighted all my wires everywhere in the coach. I was real careful. My nutdrivers and screwdrivers are coated. I have my C10 license, so you may not want to do that yourself.
I also realized that I need to tighten bolts and replace missing rivets all over the coach inside and out.

Had just the opposite problem, no dash gauge or toggle switch lights. Replaced the headlight switch. Problem solved.

I have a 02 Magna # 6089. if I had a list of problems I have experienced, it would take a couple of pages. I must admit, I have caused many my self by not knowing the rig and I'm a electronic idiot. Keep your terminals clean and water level up, shorting caused by corrosion will cause all sorts of problems. I found taking a water hose with hi-pressure will clean the corrosion quick and very clean, then remove your terminals and clean-em. I use Kroll oil spray to coat and protect. I have found most help from other Magna owners.

Richard,

when you said to keep it clean, did you or can some one spray down the area around the batteries? I was forced to drive down a road under repair. The area was dirt and rocks one place and muddy in another.
My batteries area now is just dirty.
I know you are talking about the terminals on the batteries, but I was just wondering if you knew.

Yes Dave sounds odd, a personal friend a working RV tec. gave me the tip. A tap water hose with lot-a pressure, tight spray. Just wash everything down (including the batteries) and out. Be carful to wipe clean all the out side paint, I didn't and have damaged the paint. Try it you'll love it, sounds to simple, works like magic. Pass it on, Rich

No, had the shop where I bought the coach do it. They were trouble shooting another problem in the dash and had it torn apart anyway. Labor and part came to around $80.

Ok the things I have done today. I replaced the headlight switch. I have replaced the ignigtion switch. I checked all of the ground in the dash area.. I checked the ground connections by finding a hot 12 volt. Using a continuity light tester. I still have all the dash lights illuminated. What do I try next? Bo & Kathy Lee 2000 Magna #5896 40 FT

Thanks to Fred Sage and all that replied with suggestions to try.

I found a blown fuse in the front Run Fuse box.
The fuse was for the wire # 82.

I replaced the blown fuse and the problem of the dash lights and the toggle switches lights staying on went away.

If any one happens to have the problem with the dash lights. The first thing to check for is the fuses.
