After 12 years of good fortune I have finally collected a large rock crack in my passenger side windshield. Is this a specialty glass or can most glass repair shops deal with this repair. I was leak free and hope to remain so! Also, any estimates on the cost of the replacement glass and installation. I have monitored this site for some time and find the help most knowledgable and welcome. Thanks in advance.

Yes any glass installer can do the job.......But I recommend going into a RV shop that's familiar with doing this. At our shop we use a sublet glass installer, with the coach on a flat surface (such as in the shop) we'll replace the glass, glue it in and let it sit overnight. In the morning we'll clean up the squeezed out glue from installing, lay down a nice sealant edge to ensure sealed and for a clean finished job.

I have had three windshields replaced on our '02. It is nothing special and any glass shop can do it. My replacement didn't cost anything because I have glass coverage and declining deductible.
