Hub Failure

I have been meaning to share this photo of a failed hub from our 2005 Inspire. The only symptom was a slight oil leak. After opening the brake assembly it was discovered the spring had come loose and been dragging on the hub long enough to carve this massive groove. The oil was seeking through the crack at the bottom of the groove. Complete failure was averted thanks to this discovery by the Country Coach Corp folks.

I'm sure this is very rare but worth sharing.

Jim,

We were at Country Coach a couple of months ago having the Coach aligned and I believe his name was Eric showed the hub to me. He's keeping it to show others. It was very close to failing! I've checked all four corners since returning from the trip. No problems found.
