Crossfire for duals

I am installing the Crossfires...and I already know any type of extenders increase the chance of leaks, but willing to try this system after many reports of good service from them. I also have a TPMS installed, so these are a little overkill but I am buying into the benefits of equalization and ease of topping off pressure.
My question is has anyone installed them using one of the brackets that came with them? I don't seem to be able to find a configuration that clears the wheel hub covers. I am considering mounting it right to the hub cover itself. It is a thin gauge, chrome plated metal and I would think it should hold them fine but want to see if anyone else has done it. The brackets are heavy gauge L brackets that install under a lug nut/bolt. Unfortunately the hub covers don't allow enough room to attach the bracket. Any ideas?

Gary..........I've had the Crossfires in place for about 5 years now and like them a lot. Pressure readouts are never more than 1# difference between inner and outer after the tires get up to temperature, and that is probably due to sending unit error difference. It used to be as much as 5-10#'s no matter how careful I was when I 'aired-up'.
My 'L' bracket did mount the unit OK, but with a little finagling. It's a tight fit, but can be done.

Actually, the vender at Precision in Minn drills a hole in the hub cover and mounts it on that.
