Water in Fuel Sensor

I have been experiencing a "water in fuel" light for a while now. After it first started I had both filters changed at CAT. The light came back again. I have tried Service Products fuel drying additive which seemed to work for a while but the light came back again. I've now been through changing filters again and the light is out for the time being. My question is "where is the sensor"? It IS NOT on either the primary or secondary filter?

For whatever it's worth my fuel/water separator is in the larger of the two filters. The one with the drain at the bottom. There is also an electrical connector on the bottom of this filer that sends a signal for the warning light to come on.
If that's not the case for your coach then your separator is located somewhere else and needs to be drained. Sounds like you may have received some bad fuel? Maybe someone else with a C9 CAT can help you out.

James, I have an 07 Intrigue with a C -13. My owners manual says that the "water in fuel" sensor is not hooked up in CATS but in Cummins only. This might apply to you as well, therefore you'd be getting a false reading. I suggest you search your owner's manual on this. Couldn't hurt!
