Considering an early 2000's Allure or Inspire

I'm looking for an early 2000's 32' CC.
Are there any big problems with these years or special items to look for? Steering, electrical issues etc?

What kind of MPG should I expect?

I've owned Fleetwood, Newmar and Safari. I understand the CC is a step up.

We've had a 2000 Allure 32' (no slide) for 10 years and like it very much. It's from the high quality years before the National take over. It's easy to maneuver, but still roomy inside. However, it doesn't have much outside storage space compared to other short coaches. This is primarily because the 2000 coaches got the Neway IFS front suspension before they designed with the generator cradle. So, the generator uses up one of the driver side compartments. On the big coaches, it's not a big loss, but it's a significant loss of space on a short coach.

In our research. We found that generally the Allure was the bottom end of the upper food chain of CC's. Take some time on Damon Rapozo,s model history. I do like the Inspire and Tribute, but for example the Allure has Hydrohot, a ISC or ISL, etc. The Inspire has conventional water heater, different engines and material differences too.
I did, do, like the Inspire's bang for the buck, especially compared to other manufacturer's products. And owners report positive posts to back this opinion up. I know many will support positive Inspire ownership.
But, between the Inspire to Allure you take a big step up in rigs. When shopping, decide what matters to you. Hard to go wrong...
Note, I think Inspires did not start until 2004. A 40' tag 2002-3 Allure or Intrigue, is a lot more coach then a 2004 Inspire. And prices do not jump that much in those years.

I had a 2006 Inspire 360 DaVinci for year and a half and only had one issue with it the entire time and that was overheating which was resolved in 5 minutes when the fan was re-programmed. this coach was flawless otherwise, and is now at Premier RV as I traded for an Intrigue in order to obtain more room and more features..... Premier RV in Junction City is the finest group of folks I have ever encountered.... from the sales folks Louie and Susan, Mike, to Gary, the service manager, and all technicians - best folks I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with .......

Smitty makes two very good points:

1) Not all , but many early 2000s Allures came with the HydroHot heating system and had problems. I have the force air heat and like it just fine.

2) Visit Damon Rapozo's website to research any CC model by year and options. He's generally accepted as one of the premier CC salesmen in the nation.

The Inspire was not introduced until 2004 and did not come in a 32'.

The first Allures to have hydronic heat was in 2003 using a Hurricane unit. Hydrohot came to the Allure in 2004. Keep in mind that CC often introduced changes mid-model year but I don't believe any 2000 Allures had HydroHot. Could be wrong of course.

Hi Richard

I own a 2002 32ft Allure 41,000 miles. I get between 8.5-9.0 mpg. I have not had any major problems. Small things to go wrong, but easy to get fixed.
