HWH oil check

I've had conflicting procedures on how to check the oil level in the resevoir in the compartment under the drivers seat. I have 2 slides and I understand that the living room with its 4 cylinders are extended when the room is retracted. My owners book does not address this. Thanks

I asked the same question when at HWH. The answer I got was 'it depends'. Seems CC made a number of changes that one answer doesn't fit all coaches.
Ring HWH and ask as they have a data base that should help.

Hi Ed,

As Bruce has stated, a call to HWH should answer your question for sure. When I asked the question, HWH stated to check the fluid with the slides, "closed." I have a similar set up to your Intrigue with two slides. Both slides are by HWH.

My '02 Allure slide mechanisms "should" be identical to yours. HWH and two different CC sources say the galley slide should be OUT and the bedroom slide should be IN when checking the fluid level.

As others have replied - call HWH to be sure.

Checking with HWH is the only way; ours is 3 slides in and one out - go figure!

Just left annual checkup at HWH three weeks ago with my '01 Intrigue and techs (three of them including shop mgr) confirmed galley slide out, rear slide in when checking BUT all three emphasized that this is a closed system and we would never have to need to check unless we see a leak somewhere.

As others have already posted.........."each one" is different, based on whether the hydraulic cylinders are "pushing" or "pulling" the slide movement.
But, just wanted to add that after I discovered how to check mine with combinations of slides in and out, and I was happy that the oil level was correct, I ran all the slides in and measured the oil level again.
Now, all I have to do is check with the slides in to know if any oil is required. NOTE: This check may be under the level that your plug/dipstick will reach, so you will have to improvise with a different length dipstick and mark it for future reference.
