Roof amber lights

Has anyone changed out a burned out roof amber lights ? I have two out and after cleaning off the silicone I can't get to the lights. It looks like the whole light assembly needs to be changed? The amber part looks like it fits in a tin black casing but I can't get it apart. Any help about this would be appreciated.

Jack: I took all of mine out last year to resealed around due to a small leak. My units looked to be self-contained and didn't seem like the bulbs could be replaced, however I didn't attempt to open. I had to pry them out of the recessed areas on the body, clean, and then reseal. I think if I were to do it again, I'd replace with LEDs for sure. Sorry I couldn't be more help,

Jack - On my bus these lights were LED integrated units. That meaning the whole assembly will need to be replaced. I haven't explored trying to take one apart and replace just the LED inside. I guess it's possible but would depend on how the amber crystal is sealed to the casing. I can't imagine these are expensive. Make sure it's the LED and not a wiring problem. If I recall these were connected via crimp unions which should be reliable. If it's the LEDs it might be a good idea to replace all three. Good luck.

Jack I had one burned out and replaced it with an e-bay light. The ones I found came 2 in a pack. Can't remember cost but they were led's in a sealed amber assembly. I did have to pry the old fixtures out.

If it's not too late you can check with KaperII as they the supplier for my Inspire clearance lights and were easy to deal with for all new replacement LED fixtures.
