1997 Intrigue

I have recently purchased a 1997 Intrigue. The passenger seat has no power, Driver seat works great. Not quite sure where to start. I have checked all fuses and made sure all pig tails were plugged in underneath the seat. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

We have the 1st model year of the Intrigue, 1995, and if yours is like ours, there is no power to the passenger side seat because there are, literally, no wires ...
FYI, we just picked up our coach from a renovator, having had both captains chairs replaced, along with some other things, and the mechanical 'nature' of the passenger side seat was fully confirmed.

Thanks, it is my second post, I had posted once before when asking for advice what to check for on a used coach.
It has controls on the sides of the chair just like the Drivers for up down back and forth and I see cables connected to the motors under the chair.
The buttons don't seem to have any resistance like they do in the drivers chair, that is why I assume it had no power.

I can't give you a direct answer, but one would hope that your coach came with an owner's manual. Ours, for the initial 1995 year of production, was was literally nothing more than a binder with dividers and plain text pages that likely came from printer. If so, there will be detailed wiring diagrams which should help you figure out the problem. If you don't have the manual, I'd recommend looking around for one to copy, for it is quite valuable, the most valuable section being the wiring diagrams. Literally every wire in your coach is labeled with a number ...

I don't know if this will help but I had switch problems with the passenger seat on my 1998 Magna #5489. I removed the switch and found that the internal components were burned. Your comment about lack of resistance leads me to believe that a prior owner could have removed the guts of the switch instead of replacing it since they are very difficult to identify and find. If your switch is like mine it can be found at the following site:

I having a feeling you are right, I removed the switch it looks okay but the connectors look like they have been fiddled with. What would b easy way to test test the switch? I also tried the link but the web site keeps asking for make and model. What options did you select and is there a part number for switch?

I swapped the power seat switch from the drivers seat to the passenger seat. Driver side still works and passenger still does not work, so I am guessing the switch is good.

Have you used a meter to see if the voltages to the switch are the same for both the drivers and passengers seat? That would tell you if the problem is before the switch or after it.
Since none of the functionality on the chair works, I would assume that it is a power problem, not an individual motor problem. I would check each of the connections to see if there is a problem.

No voltage to the passenger seat, I do get voltage to the drivers seat. I don't see the a wire diagram of the wires to the seats. The fuse seems to be the same for both seats. Any suggestions or where to check next would be greatly appreciated.

There is a couple of wires that come to the chair from below the floor or from the coach wall. I would check to see if there was any voltage on these wires before any connections. If so, the problem is with one of the connections under the chair and you can troubleshoot each connection. If not, the problem is more difficult to resolve. My coach documentation (which is complete) does not show this wiring on the schematics. I think the seats on my coach are wired into the coach batteries not the house batteries and schematics on the chassis wiring are less detailed. I'll check again but I believe this is the case.

The cables come where the wall and floor meet on the passenger side. They are and I checked power on these cables and have no power. One cable is red and one is green. I also looked for wiring diagrams for these two cables and could not find anything.

I was mistaken about the seats being part of the chassis system on my coach. They are attached to the house system. I looked at my documentation for my 1998 Magna and found no info on the seat wiring and their are no numbers attached to the actual wires. I am out of ideas. I think at this point I would consider running some wires from the power source to the drivers seat under the carpet and attaching them to the passenger side chair or look for another 12v power source that will handle the current load.

Sorry, but my knowledge is limited.

I am not familiar with your particular coach but do you have a magazine rack on the right side of your passenger seat down low? If so there are 4 screws around the inside of the rack holding it in place. Remove those screws and the rack will pull out. There should be a bunch of wiring in there. Your seat power is just a 12 volt source T'd off of other wires. Maybe the connector came loose or something simple.

Good suggestion but the magazine rack is just mounted on the wall and nothing but wall behind. This did trigger a thought on my side. I created a jumper cable using the power from the driver seat and connected it to the passenger seat cables. The seat works! Now I know the issue is with cable coming form the corner of the wall and floor but can not seem to find where the cable goes. Thanks for everyone help so far! So if anyone has any knowledge on where this cable goes or comes from it would be very helpful.

There is a possibility that you have a bad ground wire (green) where it connects to the coach. I had huge ground wire problems. In the end I rewired the ground bus for the dash area to stop the many problems. The ground wire attachments were poorly designed. CC used home wire bus bars designed for solid wire not stranded wire, over time the connections became loose and some wires actually cut by the set screws. If you checked voltage thru the connector, you might try using another ground wire to see if there is voltage.
