Address

Can someone give me the basics of establishing an address. I have recently lost the residential address I had. I own a commercial building in Florida and could use that but I am not sure if it is legal to live in that building. I park my MH behind it during the few months I spend there and might need to show someone I "live" somewhere else.

What about voting, drivers license, passport etc.?

Thanks
John

We full time so we have a "permanent address" in South Dakota (mail forwarding service); we vote from there and have that as our established address for registrations, etc. have not changed our passports since they aren't up for renewal yet. We selected it because of registration costs, taxes there (no State income taxes), insurance costs (vehicle and MH) as well as they are setup for quick mail forwarding to our locations as we travel. If you want a specific place, try:www.americas-mailbox.com/ Hope this is what you're looking for,

Your 'domicile' is usually where you vote. Not being an attorney, I was involved in a legal issue where someone near to me was taken out of his 'domicile' to another county and subject to the legal system of that county. Look up domicile and view case records. There is also the attorneys in Montana that do LLCs that can probably help you.
You could have an attorney establish something for you at their office.

If you find something, let me know.

John,

Escapees is anther RV organization (me thinks some 36K members) that can provide a residential address. They have a mail forwarding service too which I believe is $125 annually + postage. Their website is: http://www.escapees.com/ This organization is based out of Livingston, TX in Polk county. You can vote, obtain a driver's license and I'd imagine get a passport there. It's a county seat. Escapees also maintains a public blog. In other words, you don't need to pay a fee to read its content. Posting privileges are reserved for paying members, however. You'll find a lot of information there about domiciles. As for a driver's license, be advised that Texas requires anyone driving a vehicle over 26,000 GVW to have a class B CDL. This requires both written and behind the wheel tests. Good luck.

My RV Mail located in Crestview FL is a great organization.

www.myrvmail.com

they provide a physical address in FL, mail forwarding and much more. They will scan your mail (for extra fee) and you can view it online and decide if you want it forwarded or shredded. When we used their service it was great.
It is affiliated with Passport America, the half price camping club.
