Over the years I've used Rotella, from Shell, Delo from Chevron, Penzoil, and Valvoline. Just make sure you pick the oil with the correct rating for your engine. Contact 1-800-diesels, Cummins for the necessary ratings for your engine. Have the serial # close at hand. Its printed on a bathroom cabinet inner door. CC used Pensoil in my 98 Allure. Cummins in El Paso, and Albuquerque use Delo or Rotello, and Chris Snyder in Tucson uses Valvoline, which I am running now.

PS. I used Quaker State in my 7.3 liter ford with Banks turbo. And use Rotella in my 5.9 liter Cummins in my 2001 2500 Ram pickup. You can always tell when its time to change oil on the 2500 as the sound of the engine develops a hard clatter, with fresh oil its much smoother. usually twice a year.

Gary, I use valvoline premium blue, its recommended by cummins. If you are going to change your own oil look into buying a fumoto engine oil drain plug (f-104N) James 06 430 allure #31317 w/400ISL cummins
